Indirect Coombs Test (ICT)

Coombs test checks for antibodies in your blood which attack red blood cells. Your immune system will make antibodies if red blood cells do not match. Indirect Coombs test looks for antibodies in the liquid part of your blood. This test is recommended if you require a blood transfusion. Pregnant women also need to do this test to check if they have antibodies which can pass to the unborn child and cause harm.
