Lipase is an enzyme used by the body to breakdown fats present in the food. This helps the intestines to absorb fat. Lipase is produced by the pancreas in your body. High lipase level is usually a sign of disease of the pancreas like pancreatitis, blocked pancreatic duct, cancer etc.
