Anti Nuclear Antibody / Factor (ANA/ANF), EIA

This is used as a primary test to detect antibodies against one’s own cells leading to autoimmune disorders like Lupus, Rheumatoid arthritis, Scleroderma, Addison disease etc. This test can also be positive in many healthy individuals specially adults above 65 years of age. A negative result does not completely rule out the possibility of autoimmune disease. This is a screening test.
